A previous post asked how to remove the spring loaded seat lock mechanism on both sides of the car. Well answered - 3 slotted screws on each side, so the 'other' owner from whom I'm trying to buy these locks has it that far. THANKS for help.

NOW - he hasn't been able to remove the black knobs so the mechanism can be dropped down below the ledge and removed. I assume they are friction fit, and a strong pull, or carefully done 'pry' should get each of them off.

Those who've done this, please chime in on the best procedure.

THANK YOU for your help on this weird project!!!!

Yes, all these knobs should come off with a strong pull or pry as you said, but from memory, I am fairly sure that you can remove that locking mechanism from the body without taking the knob off. There may be some jiggling around required.

Does he have a return spring for the throttle level at the left engine block motor mounting bracket?

Thanks, Tom
