That blue plastic tube was cut less than an inch into the engine bay on my car for some reason. How do I re join the two pieces? See picture below.
I’m guessing there is no real pressure on that line right? So I was thinking about possibly some of that electric wire shrinkwrap stuff that you heat up so it shrinks around both sides maybe?
Thank you

Hmmm, now that I looked at it more carefully it seems the tube going through the firewall is black tubing while the piece that travels along the firewall going to the canister is blue. So maybe they were never connected there to begin with. Should they be connected?

If it’s vapor recovery line you can use vacuum hose, black braided kind, to the charcoal canister and then to air cleaner.

what does it go to?
simple use a piece of water hose to old and new
seal w. weatherstriping if needed for a permanent fix

While you're at it, check the vapor line to make sure it is intact back to the gas tank. In my coupe, a PO not only removed all the vapor recovery hardware but also went to the trouble to stuff a ball bearing in the line (at the splice over the right rear wheel well.)
