Huge vintage BMW gathering

This looks FANTASTIC :D

I wonder how much it would be to ship my car over the ocean for this event

I just registered. I hope my coupe will make it all the way (350-400 miles)! I may just try for a loop drive and hit Tennessee and then the Blueridge on the way back to DC. 8)

Is there any cost to attend/participate (aside from bringing my own brew?) I'm trying to make it down with my '73 CSi and I'm weighing the trailer option vs. driving down.

Cost?

No cost. Be very discreet on the brew thing. I may have touched yeast-beasties to my lips the last couple of years there, but it was a plastic cup. Gotta respect the vinyard folks that are allowing us to tromp down their grass and pee all over their urinals. I am looking forward to going to the Friday pm thing at Tim Creef's (never had a car ready) so I can drink a public beer, tromp down his grass and pee all over....well maybe not the last part. The 02Group is a super nice bunch. Hope you make it. Dave V. in western NC

Beer topic

Dave,

You're a hoot!

Since the beer topic has arisen, here's the rules. The winery requests no outside alcohol. Please respect their wishes because they have been great people to work with over the past few years. To quote a friend of mine "be a wino for the day".
However, the beer will be flowing at the cookout at Tim Creef's on friday night, and there will be a cash bar at the Saturday evening party at Shaffner house. I will try to make sure they have some good quality beer to pick from.

Yes the event is FREE. :D

Saturday evening party

UPDATE

The Saturday evening reception for vintage BMW owners sponsored by BMWCCA Foundation will now be at Speakeasy Jazz club in downtown Winston-Salem. This is a really neat venue and instead of a whimpy beer and wine cash bar we will now have a complete cash bar with beer, wine, liquor, and a huge martini menu.

I'm working right now on booking some live music. This area has some really talented jazz musicians and this is going to be one fun party.
