Hi All,

I am looking for the original engine for my fathers CSL and I wondered if anyone has any advice/previous success? I understand it is an highly likely to be found.

Unfortunately the 3.5 litre (M5 engine) that is currently fitted needs a full rebuild therefore I thought it would be a great opportunity to find the original engine.

History - The original engine was replaced by Munich Legends (England) in the 90's. The CSL was Barney's personal car (the owner at the time) but unfortunately he cannot remember what happened to it.

VIN - 228539X. I have included the "X" as I am not 100% comfortable confirming the full vin online.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the reply. The car was verona red when the engine was removed and I believe the original colour was white.

Thanks

hi,

what colour was the car, I know the fate of an engine in that number range

matching numbers

This is wonderful. It reminds me so much of what was going on in Vincent motorcycle circles in the 1980's and 90's. What an achievement if they can be re-united, body and engine. Very best of luck. Sentimental John
