Thought that I would share some photos of what is likely to be a long (long) project

Welcome aboard! There's a fair few of us dotted around the UK. We have a WhatsApp group too which is great for any advise you need in a pinch. @Michael Kaye can add you into it

@BJ1 pm me with your mobile number if you’re interested in joining our WhatsApp group.

hopefully if things improve we might even manage a meet-up sometime in the summer!

Thanks guys. The chap that I bought it from used to own a BMW dealership and he and his friends had several. This one was apparently raced but I don't know more than that. Must confess that my initial plan was to rebuild the car for the circuit but I then did the maths and terrified myself

While I think about it, does anyone have plans for the wooden parts of the dash? The ends were cut off mine when the cage was installed and I need to recreate them

Mine had disintegrated so I rebuilt them using epoxy poured into an aluminium (!) mould which I manufactured and fixed to the existing wood. I did put as much of the old wood which had delaminated in the epoxy first for some strange nostagic reason. Once set I re-veneered all the wood. It needs to come out for a little fettling but the results were good.
