A little over 2 years ago (probably while suffering from some sort of mental affliction) I decided to sell my 1972 3.0 CSi

And earlier this week I managed to buy it back from the guy I sold it to! I drove it 150 miles home yesterday. I really missed it while it was gone.

The guy I sold it to drove it less the 200 miles in 2 years, so the car was exactly as I left it, he hadn't even removed the extra parts I gave him and that I put in the trunk.

I am very pleased!

it looks like a beautiful coupe Henry ... i agree totally with both comments from Steve (both of them). i'm really glad you got it back.

why don't you edit your profile and let us know where you are. have you registered your VIN on e9-driven.com?

Congrats on getting it back! It would take an act of God or financial disaster to get me to sell mine.

Thank you all for your encouragement. I have no plans to sell it again, don't worry.

My car has been registered at e9-driven.com since 2011, and have edited my profile to show I'm in Mexico

Interior leather

Felicidades Henry

Can you please post some pics of your leather. The color looks very close to the original tan color. If reupholstered, what was the source of the leather/covers?

I don't have pictures of the seats in my computer. I will take some and post them, but do remember that each screen represents color differently and thus what you see might not be a good representation of the actual color.

I'm not 100% sure but I think the upholstery might be the original one, my car has about 72K original miles on it, and even though it suffered a color change before I got it -and I returned it to the original Malaga, the interior stayed the same. If someone can help me verify this I'd appreciate it.

I've known this car for about 15 years (I first got it in '08), and the upholstery was already there.

Haha! One lucky guy. To be able to get back the car you loved with barely a weekend's worth of driving miles on it. Terrific! You almost put that many miles bringing her home!

Well Done, welcome back and check the registry to see if you VIN is there. If not please register. Click CS Registry above.

Thanks, indeed I feel very lucky...

Car has been in the registry since 2011 when I first owned it.

I will write to get the build info

Thanks

Why, in the name of God, did you ever sell that beauty?!

That is a good question, the answer is that I wanted to fund the purchase of a Porsche 930 (which I did).

The question is more interesting when you know all the trouble I went through to have it looking like it does today. It took me over 18 months to bring it to how it looks today.

First picture is what the car looked like when I got it, great from 10 feet but with a quite a few blemishes.
