Hello, respected E9 forum users.

I need advice from more experienced E9 users who have already renovated their car or are in the process of doing so.

I recently received newly chromed accessories for the E9.
I have a really trustworthy craftsman who specializes in the renovation and re-chroming of car and motorcycle equipment elements.
I noticed one detail.
Namely, on the upper end of the c and d pillar covers.
After looking at a lot of photos on the Internet, I have an even bigger question mark in my head about the correct fit of the edges of the window strips with the cover of the C and D pillars.
If possible, I would like to ask for your advice and a few photos of what this connection looks like in your cars.
I would be grateful for any information.

Regards.

.....these blocks are fixed on top of the B-pillar. The window strip will be mounted on top and fixed by a screw.

If you need a set let me know.
Once installed it will not take that long and you will locate yours (according Murphy's law)

Thank you Thomas.

That's not exactly what I mean.
I did not clarify the question.
What I mean is the correct shape of the end of the covers of pillars C and D.

Recently, a friend even scanned these overlays and produced a few test copies, because I have two original sets of these plastic overlays and they are worn by time...
Since it is an invisible element, I prefer 3D printing.

@Lucas ,
I can take a look this evening, as I have a NOS of the alu covers.

If I understand it well, you would like to know if/how the alu cover fits up under/against the horizontal end of the chrome trim of the rear window.

I think the alu covers (should) have a small tab that fits under the chrome trim.

Strangely, one of your parts seem to have that tab (passanger side), but the other part (driver) does not.

I think your driver's side part is missing the tab, likely already before chroming it.
But I can confirm my suspicion by sending you some pics this evening after checking my NOS parts.

Hello Eric.

Thank you for reacting to my post.
Yes, what I mean is whether the upper end of the C and D pillar covers should have an additional "tab" that should go under the end of the rear window strip.
If so, what shape should it have?
I've seen several different ones or even ones without a "tab".

Were the covers of the C and D pillars in the early version made of brass or always aluminum?

I have only seen e9 parts in alu, but that doesn't exclude them being chromed brass early on. I just may have never seen them.

The 2000cs surely had chromed brass, but they are shiny flat, and do not have the hatched patterns on them.

Here's the Nos parts that I have.
Both sides have the tap.

It's supposed to fit under the chrome trim on the rear, outside window.

Now the tabs are slightly different, but that's just tolerance n my parts I guess: the right side has a tab that's 7mm wide x3 mm high. Left side has a tab that is 9mm wide x2 mm high.

Attached some front and rear pics.

Thank you Erik for the photos. I appreciate your help.
It looks like I will have to correct the end of the cover which is missing the catch tab.
