Where do I find the hose-cardboard part that fits on end of air cleaner
the part of the unit that seems to jut out and over valve covers.. seems to fit in 2 spots
Is this a specialty part or can buy that, or pick up at regular napa auto shop.

Thanks

dear jendon2,
it is probably good to include a bit of more info in your requests
i can not see if your is a cs or csi car, and that is important
a pic or a detail of the part that you are looking. for will be also good in some cases
andlast but not least, the country in which you are placed can help to propose a solition
genrally speaking the hose that you mention in a cs car is not so special and any auto shop can provide you with a valid one, only spec that matters is heat resistance
regards

I think I got mine at a standard auto parts store like Pep Boys or Autozone.
I just measured the opening on that piece below the air cleaner snorkel.
Note: the hole on the air cleaner is bigger than the hole below. What I ended up doing was to install the metalized cardboard tube over the lower ridge but inside the hole in the air cleaner snorkel. So far it has stayed put.

I couldn't find anything to work at the local auto store so I bought the real thing at Penskeparts.com, nos. 18 and 6 - they're different sizes, lengths, and coatings:

#6 is shiney black coated/wire and provides cold air to the intake, #18 is regular cardboard/wire and provides hot air to the intake on a cold day if the thermo valve is working. Being in a warm climate I disabled mine, but kept the hose for looks and it seems to help keep the assembly snorkel from vibrating.

Something to keep in mind...

On my car, I discovered that the expanding element was not functioning. That means the engine always gets hot air from around the exhaust manifold. I've disabled it for now by removing the arm and spring that operates the door. This is something that is well worth checking.

Black vinyl covered hoses underhood-- when

It would be most helpful if ALL BOARD MEMBERS would state where they are located as more useful answers to very basic questions such as you have posed can be more helpfully addressed.
