I tried some tubing that looks just like this sourced from a vw specialist company, advertised as brake fluid hose. The rubber (?) under the cloth was black, and within a month my brake fluid (dot 4) was black also. Did a 2002 as well unfortunately, with the same result. Went back to the w&n hose and it has stayed clean.
i can understand the tightness, in the internet is shown as 7mm in diameter, with the same reference as yours, there is something odd in your hose label,...
