I'm trying to establish if my new Bosch blue coil (with internal resistor) connections are correct.

As per usual, my car seems to have way too many wires than the wiring digram indicates.

Maybe a few of these wires should be left disconnected, but I'd like to attempt a wire by wire approach. (Please see attached photo)

Wire 1
Black Wire from Pertronix Unit
connected to Negative term. of coil

Wire 2
Red Wire from Pertronix Unit
connected to Positive term. of coil

Wire 3
Triple black wires into 1 connection lead
connected to Negative term. of coil

Wire 4
Plain Green Wire from Firewall cluster
connected to ???

Wire 5 and 6
Black wire with Yellow stripe grouped with Black wire with
Yellow dots connected to???

Black and red wire continues
separately to where?

Wire 7 (not shown)
Black wire connected to capacitor mounted to engine sidewall
Connected to negative term.??

Condensor
Disconnected/not necessary because I have Pertronix unit installed.
Is this correct??

Any help on wires 5, 6 , and 7 would be really helpful, or if there are any incorrect connections please let me know.

Thanks for the help.

This might help:

Wire 3 triple black: this includes the wire to your tach and the now probably removed emissions (speed) relays on the firewall (that three pin connector next to your wire 2 in the photo).

Black/red usually goes the the resisitor you no longer need and another B/R goes to your starter

This from the blue book diagram 61-0/42
