can anyone throw any light on the following ?

when warm my car will sometimes stall (usually at traffic lights !). when i go to start it again it will just turn over and not fire. it appears that the fuel pump momentarily fails as after a minute or so i can hear the tell tale noise of the pump and the car then starts fine.

any clues ?

Check the fuel pump relay, which is usually next to the ECU under the back seats

Check the connections to the immobiliser as many of them are linked to this relay to "kill" the fuel pump

yeah just an idea, as my brother had a similar sounding problem that turned out to be caused by a bad connection on the immobiliser
