I have a quick question for those who know more about coupes. There is a small clear wedge located on the top side of my ignition assembly and I was wondering what it is exactly?

My guess is a courtesy light, but I am not sure as it does not work at the moment.

Sorry for the lack of pictures, BTW if it is a light, can someone elaborate on how it functions? i.e. with the door switch and or with the ignition switch on or off.

Thanks,

MF

If it is the lit prism that you 're referring to, then it illuminates the HVAC control levers, albeit, not very bright.

Thanks to both. Stan, that is exactly what I am talking about and thank you for posting pictures. I will check the bulb and go from there, hopefully its not a wiring issue.

Thanks again.

Cheers,

MF

yes, check the cables, it can be the bulb, if it is like in my case that the bulb support is not there it can be redone

you have to be careful when routing the wires, the PO sandwiched the wires when re-installing and kept blowing fuses.
I need to locate a prism as mine is long gone, but the light works, kind of annoying.

I will check my unit and keep you guys updated...it's nice to know the bulb housing can be replaced if need be.

I think Stan has some left over

I would be interested depending on the condition of mine. It is nice to know someone is making high quality reproductions for our dear old coupes.
