I have a 1973 e9 but several e9ers at the Amelia Island, FL Concours show said that most replace the overriders with the 1974 version.

I think you mean 72, 73 was a one year only style and is NLA.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you can just replace the missing RUBBER part with a normal 68-72 style (or 73-75 Euro) which I think looks better than the US 73 style:

The passenger side is correct for a 73, the driver side is a passenger side chrome horn with a correct 72 rubber installed on driver side upside down.
