Indicator Switch Compatibility

The listed indicator switch for my e9 is 61311351852 (serial 2232522). What is the difference with the later model switch 61311363638 for after 10/73 models?
Its hard to find the earlier ones. Any suggestions welcome.

The early one for LHD mounts on the right side of the steering column, and the later is the more traditional left side mount. For that reason I assume the later has the high beams switch and therefore probably a different connector. I do not know if mechanically they are one a mirror image of the other. If they are I would be impressed.

I have no idea on what side each one mounts for your RHD.

Looks like the 852 switch mounts on the right side, whereas the 638 switch mounts on the left. You can't mix and match the early and late switches.

Unless you intend to change both switches, the comparison should be to the 322 switch (61311355322). The 322 switch controls indicator function, windshield washer, and wipers.
