Recommendation please for a shop near Long Beach that is strong on diagnosis and not into gilding the lily - "we had those titanium screws shipped overnight, much better than new!"

Daughter bought an '02 325i with a distinct citrus odor, and it ain't the air freshener. They took it to a shop (don't know who) who produced error codes but could only suggest a long list of possibilities. Quite an investment so far so we're trying to make lemonade.

I thinks the odor described is metaphorical of a lemon, not literal.

How about coupeking right around that area? He may take the lemon as downpayment for a restomod E9. I bought my coupe with the excuse it would be for my daughter...

Specifics

Metaphorical lemons for sure....specific issues are uneven idle, stalling and oil consumption (not from tailpipe). Usual suspect for the oil is the separator, but it did pass the test where you put your hand over the oil filler opening. There a number of possibilities for the throttle/idle problem, faulty sensors and such. It was worked on by a Hack Mechanic at the lot where she bought it.
