My 72 CS has new Weber's on it. Is there an adapter plate to be able to reinstall the factory air cleaner? I prefer the "old look" over the K&N chrome pods.

Also, when I had my original engine rebuilt, the A/C was not reinstalled. What is the best "upgrade" kit for the E9? Is it expensive (dumb question), and is it fairly straight forward to install. You don't see many A/C shops around anymore.

Thanks For Any Advice,

Pat

Hi Pat,

My Coupe has 32/36 DGAV's on it, and they have adaptor plates. My air filter housing also has new holes drilled it in to match the different location of the mounting post.

I'm not sure if those adapters were common, but a quick google search led me to an eBay listing, and these guys were selling a full weber conversion kit, including the adapters. Might be worth calling them and seeing if they'll sell the adaptors separately.

I have the JAM Engineering adapters, but they are sitting in a box. They are well made, but I discovered a while back that the mere presence of the stock air filter housing on the DGVs caused them to go very rich at WOT, even without the top cover on and without filters. I'd recommend against it, even if it does look nice.

Stock air cleaner housing

I did forget to ask about performance considerations. Thanks for the tip regarding
the carb richness.

Thanks Again,

Pat
