either that or he's colluding with the south american guy .... SO many people think "the Bay" drives market prices, and there's a car element out there that has no qualms about thinking they can exploit that.

Think about it, this buyer has known of the car for sometime (I mean, even "we" have watched it for years now) wouldn't that buyer go direct to the source rather than rely on the integrity of anonymous bidders on "the Bay"?

Sorry if I sound cynical,

Really. twharp49, the current high bidder, has picked up 2 interesting looking coupes on the east coast this month -- and that's just on ebay.

Anyone here?

If I was interested I would call him directly after the first two auctions. But, makes my CSL purchase a year and half ago look like a good deal....

I guess he had a deadbeat bidder or something, since that coupe has been on the bay a couple of times before.

It looks as if the seller moved the car from PR to the US (Miami). Perhaps interested parties, well at least 2 aggressive bidders, had a chance to inspect the car and bid accordingly.

Quite frankly I'm happy to see that the price and overall interest for e9's are on the rise.

I was getting ready to say, his only two purchase feedbacks are a cs and csl.

For a car at this price, I woudl want a lot more history and detail.

I can give you some (from what I have "learned" here and on the CSR):

It was restored by Peter S., aka coupeking, and has changed hands a few times since then. There are more pics and info on his web site (www.coupeking.com). A 2002 owner in Puerto Rico has seen in the "flesh" and reports back very positively. You can read that here: http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,278030/
