Installing a sunroof from a donor car ?

I have 2 E9s, I was wondering how difficult/expensive it would be to take the factory fitted sunroof from the donor car and install it in the good car ?

I know there are structural issues involved, but I don't know what they are exactly.

Any help much appreciated !

There are at least 2 ways to do this.

I had a complete electric sunroof roof swapped to one of my CSs by cutting off the whole roof in the middle of the posts. This was done by a pro bodyman and has worked ok, but I no longer think it is the best way.

Now, I would remove the donor roof skin by drilling out all the spot welds. A friend did this on his 2002. Look here:

That's a great help Bill. Not just a case of cutting a hole then ! Would have to re-vinyl the roof too.
