Ah just what I needed, another coupe assembly puzzle. The black guage bezels don't fit thru the metal plate on the back of the wood. They seem to be too long causing them to not fit flush to the front of the wood.If you kind of wriggle them a bit they kinda fit inside the opening in the metal.I noticed there is an imprinted mark(looks like "l") at the top of each of the cut-outs in the metal for the gauges and maybe a similar, smaller mark on the bezel(or maybe I'm seeing things) I guess these line up?If this is the way to go what glue do I use to hold bezel in place? And where do I apply glue? It seems when I take things apart I always fail to notice the subtle things. Thanks!

I took mine apart last week and did not notice any marks that would line up. I did mark mine, with felt tip, for reinstall, and numbered them for placement.
Just checked and mine also have the indent/mark you mentioned, but with no corresponding mark on the wood. The mark will go at 12 o'clock position, or as close as fitment allows.
I just looked again and there is a line on the backing plate, bottom of all holes, that will make lining up the marks for proper alignment easy.
The bezels are made to go out the back thru the metal plate and mine were soldered to the back plate. They only protrude by less than 1/8"
I am a plumber and the soldering is not an issue for me. However if not inclined to solder I would just use a small amount of silicone to secure the bezels to the wood surround. With the face down and weight, should hold well enough when dry.
Turn the bezels in the hole to get a good flush fit and alignment. Mark and assemble with the silicone.
Obviously don't get silicone on the finished surface of the bezels. You can't paint over silicone!
