Insulation (misterious?) piece.

I am trying to understand where this sound insulation item should could place.
Anyone knowing that?

Stefano, if you search the part number on realoem , it looks like it goes on the inside of the firewall ( above transmission tunnel where firewall angles upwards ). Others may know for sure . Simon

I have seen the drawing on Realoem and other sites but unfortunately the drawing it is not so clear .
The piece is nr 7.

The piece is long 76x10, made of simple foam on one side and adhesive tape on the other one, and it shows two cuts at 10cm and 36cm starting from right in the first photo.

this has been raised previously....if you put in the part number in the search function on this forum it will bring up the thread; according to Alan (aearch) .."it goes inside the firewall at the top ".

that piece goes inside,in front of the heater box, makes install a lot of fun, can give pick if interested, I'm removing my box now and it is there,where did you find this piece, I'm not seeing it available?

I found it directly from BMW.
About the position, I found out that there are two cuts, and the distance is the same of the loudspeakers box, so I thought the position is in the firewall, at the top, with adhesive strip facing the interior...
