Hi all,

So I have started my engine swap program, Am going with a M30b35 with the following spec

Standard bottom end (will be balanced, new rod bolts, and lightened flywheel) Will get the compresion up as high as my engine guy will let me on standard pistons, A little tidy up in the ports with standard 3.0 cam (might go for regrind 282 yet) Three angle valve job, port matcing etc with after market ecu.

My question is about the M10 intake runners

A-do they really work?

B-Are the only of e21 or are they the same on a 2002 tii?

I am pretty sure that the intake elbows, tracts, runners (Pick a name) from a 2002tii are the same as those used on a CSI, however you need more of them!
If you give me a day or two I can have a look for you as I have a few in stock from both.
Let me know

A few fuel injected coupe owners have installed the 320i/2002tii intake runners in place of their stock M30 runnners. The claim is due the slightly longer length runners, this will generate a small increase in torque. I've considered this conversion in the past but have never gotten around to actually doing it.

The torque increase due to the larger radius runners comes at the low to mid-range part of the curve. The penalty is at the very top end. When L-jet swaps were still the rage, much discussion ensued on this topic, especially among the E12 set. Search the firstfives.org board for copious discussion of the subject. Here is an faq:
