It appears to be the 20th from last produced of the intial run of 169 carbed CSL coupes confirmed by the BMW VIN tables.

Steve, That might even be a 4 track player! Can't tell without seeing the cartridge though.

There is my dream steering wheel again - where's my drill, I'm going in!!
That wheel, seats, 8-track and the A/C are too cool.
Needs some driving lights and a map light!

agree w/shanon...

this is a very cool early csl... lots of patina and dry! Great color and the original Alpina steering wheel is nice to see. It's been for sale for awhile now - someone should bring this to the states and enjoy it.

I'll bet that the bottom wasn't not undercoated to try to save the most weight in those early 169s. I'd guess that under coat could weigh 20lbs. When I scrapped all the sound deadening material out of my interior during its 'manipulation', I had two trash bags that weighed 30+lbs....
