Interesting new engine tech (toyota)

I had an idea like this years ago...thought I was a genius...now this article...

I always thought a moving piston with electrical charge would kill two birds with one stone. One could get the mechanical sound and feel of a piston while charged air particles give you more bang for the buck when it comes to distance traveled vs battery charge.
