Regarding the interior trim that runs up the A pillar on the inside between the door seal and headliner above the windows and all the way to the back. How is this attached? It feels very secure. Do I need to remove the door gasketing first? Any chance of saving the gasketing? It may be glued on at the upper portions. There is also a flatter piece of chrome trim above the gasket that tucks under the outside rain gutter.

Thanks in advance for any pointers.

There are actually two layers of trim (three if you include the clip-on gutter trim). Both are fastened to the roof with sheet metal screws. The window seal clips into the first layer of trim and conceals screws that fasten it to the roof. You must remove the rubber seal and then remove the first layer of trim to get to the second layer, which is the interior headliner clip trim.
