When I brought Kingfish home, the previous owner mentioned that it had ignition switch issues. After removing the switch and barrel, the electrical portion is actually in really good shape, actuating normally. However, the intermediate section that connects the key tumbler to the switch (through the column lock) is not functioning correctly. From what I can tell, this shaft connects the tumbler with the switch. The male end that goes to the tumbler is rounded or otherwise malformed. It looks like the PO attempted to fix it with some epoxy. Looking at the catalog, I don't see this shaft or even the full intermediate section listed. Does anyone know where I could acquire one? Or is there an updated fix? I'd hate to replace the whole switch/barrel assembly for this little part if I don't have to.
Thanks!

The shaft connecting the two parts is in the middle.

So after receiving the updated intermediate section, it is now completely clear that my ignition tumbler is also worn out. Compare the female section of my tumbler with an E24 tumbler from Ebay. You can see how worn it is.

Looking at the tumbler, it appears like it could be disassembled further (for re-keying). Is this center section available somewhere? Does anyone have experience repairing this issue? I'd rather not spend $200+ on a new key/tumbler from BMW for such a small part.
