Hello! Kai here - some of you may know me from the 6er world as one of the organizing bodies of Southeast Sharkfest, a gathering for 6-series (but open to all) vehicles, over the past six years. (You can visit the website at www.bmwsharkfest.org). I wanted to extend a formal invitation to e9 owners and provide some information.
This year, we are celebrating the BMW marque with a new event, Northeast Coupefest, which officially incorporates e9's e24's, e31's and e63/64's. It is a Thursday night, Friday, Saturday event, tentatively scheduled for the weekend of October 2nd, which is the peak of fall foliage and should prove absolutely beautiful. I am aware that this may be the same weekend of Bavauto's show, however you can make it a long BMW-related weekend as there will be no scheduled events on Sunday. Friday during the day will begin with a drive through the Catskill mountains. The show itself will be held on a grass runway at Wurtsboro Airport (glider field) and while the show is happening, the airport will be giving glider demonstration rides overhead.
We have had much success with these events for the past six years and we have a solid infrastructure and a fantastic website that is almost completely automated. We hope to have a community of e9 enthusiasts join us for what will surely be a wonderful event!
