hmmm
after all these years, it's not the mileage (tho I think 183K is getting up there), it's the overall condition which you must assess carefully and with intimate knowledge of the car's potential weak areas.
We all know body condition is the most costly area. All the mechanical bits are readily available and relatively moderately priced, at least in comparison to body and trim bits which can be rully rully 'spensive.
If the car has been sitting for years, likely the hydraulics are shot from internal moisture and rust. Think brake calipers and master cylinder rebuilds, clutch master and slave likewise. These cars can rust immediately ex-factory, so the humidity condition of the storage is a concern. Similarly, humidity promotes mold and deterioration of upholstery materials both the visible covers and internal gummihaar pads.
