I was having a look at the dreaded Evil Bay.....
While trolling through the BMWs I found a 4 wheel drive 5 Series (E34 I think) not the jacked up soft roader things
I was wondering if you could stuff that 4 wheel drive system in an e9

Then I woke up

Shame I dont have
The money
The time
or permission from her indoors
No Malc No!!!

Lots of custom fabrication required for that.
Front subframe, custom oil pan, custom power steering, wheel power transfre mechanisms, making room for the transfer case, changing rear diff/subframe, custom transmission mounts/crossmember...

The list goes on and on. Plus, those systems can only handle about 250rwhp before it croaks

Hey - Stop the reality :p
Imagine that ever open bank account

Just thought it would be fun epecially after seeing a 850HP Saab which uses the Swedish Tractive 4 wheel drive system (www.tractive.se)

Ah.... perchance to dream

Big modifications!

Malc,

You scare me........... :D And I think this insanity is catching. After our chat the other day ( is it possible to get an 850CSi engine and bits into an E9 ) I was wondering if anyone has done such a thing.

Me - I'd just love to see the 5.0 CSi badge on a bootlid. All the work would be beyond me!

I believe the "Will an M70 fit an e9" question was answered -- yes. Not without some creativity, but general dimensions are do-able.

What you really want is the S70/2 -- the McLaren F1 engine...
