Just visited the body shop near SF that did most of the work on this much discussed coupe and to my surprise, the car is there to undergo some minor paint work, interior and some engine work. Believe the car was slightly tapped from the rear, causing the bumper to come very close to the body.

The car has shown some slight wear since I saw the coupe last. Gabriel, the shop owner stated the current owner from Utah wants to correct some small issues with the exterior. The current body schutz under bumper coating will be redone to the original texture.

Black headliner currently on car will be changed back to the original off white material. Also, the rear sunshade will be deleted in favor of the original black vinyl covered panel. Dash woodwork will also be redone.

Don't know if there are any issues with the engine, but the cylinder head has been removed. Probably the current owner just want a little more power from the motor.

Jabberjaw is still stunning as ever, especially "in the flesh". How I envy the current owner.

Jabberjaw Updates

I was going to post pics of updates once done...but since it's been brought up I'll chime in. It's been noted as a jabberjaw sighting on 2002faq also...many people know this car.

First of all, I bought this car to drive...so when you drive them stuff happens. I don't know when the rear bumper was bumped but it's subtle. Just slightly closer on drivers rear side. I hated the under body paint finish and am bringing it back to stock look as noted. There was one or two other slight imperfections that needed fixing.

The sunroof deflector modified from a 80s 911 has some broken tabs and the sunroof got stuck once...having it completely overhauled and hope to fit a newer carrera deflector if possible.

Don is helping with hone/porting of head and megasquirt. It should help with the altitude and temperature extremes we get here. I hope horsepower goes up too.

New AC Sanden set up.

Hated the wood...the finish was really bad. IMHO. So going back to figured walnut. Looks right in the coupe.

The console needs recovering...Alvin used the wrong material.

Replacing the stereo with a classic becker, blaupunkt or maybe the blaupunk berlin double stalk radio I've saved for a while. It was the best of the 80s. Just wonder if the two stalks will be too much. We'll see. Getting rid of the tweeters on the wood of door panels and from behind center speaker cover. Probably putting speakers in the parcel shelf since it's not stock anyway.

Putting orangener's alpina plate for vdo gauges in center speaker place.

Installing csl maplight on dash, I think.

Needs a new toolkit clamshell.

New headliner as noted and new sunvisors I think. Red armrest caps are going in. Redoing the door panels and door closing needs adjustment.

W&N strut bar.

A few other touch up items. Don't get me wrong the car drives great but, you know how it goes...nothing is ever perfect. Any other ideas?

I'm really pysched to see it and pick it up. Thanks to Don, Terry and Gabe who are helping get this great car back to full glory.

Driving the carrera gt out to pick it up in Oct I hope then down highway 1 with some friends to make cars n coffee the next saturday. Hope to see any of the regular crowd there. Originally I hoped to make the vintage when it was Oct 15 but now that it is moved to Oct 29 don't think I can go.

Pics to follow.
