I have reviewed most posts in regard to triple Webers . My question is : Has anyone who has converted to triple Webers regretted doing the conversion ?

I converted and don't regret it at all. The car runs and sounds great and for me at least they are easier to tune than the Zeniths.

I have them on a souped up motor with a cam and high compression pistons and the sound is glorious.

But if you want to get in and turn the key and never tweak or play with your motor I would discourage using them.

Really in all honesty fuel injection is the way to go. Simple, efficient, easy to fix and over all the best.

For us hot rodders we will always be tweaking and playing.

Just saying..............

I love mine but Gary is correct, they need to be warmed up before settling into smooth idle, there is no automatic fast idle choke system (other than your right foot for a few minutes). I enjoy this preflight ritual. Once warmed up, you won't stop smiling. Your city gas mileage will suffer.

Getting them correctly installed, jetted and synched is the issue but once set you're good to go. An AFR gauge will speed this up and be more accurate than plug cutting or seat of the pants jetting. My DCOM versions have vacuum ports for distributor advance and barrel matching. I have the inter-couple linkage so synching them once or twice a year is easy with the synchrometer if you can turn a screwdriver :)

For me it's worth the effort. Accelerating in 3rd gear from 3-5.5k rpm is amazing!

Okay, let's say I am seriously considering a triple Weber conversion from my present Zenith set-up. Could you recommend a shop in LA/ Southern Cal that could do it for me from A-Z, parts and install ? I live about 30 minutes from Ireland Engineering and 2 hours to La Jolla. The purpose of my intended conversion is that I want to have more of a visceral experience from my '71 2800. It runs fine as is, but is a bit staid for my long-term enjoyment. I don't mind having a warm-up routine, as I already routinely do that.

Have you seen the webber conversion Omex engineering do in the UK. Fuel injectors hidden in your webbers so they work like individual throttle bodies but with a classic look

Having lived with DCOE's (duals and triples) on multiple daily drivers thru many seasons over many years ... A good setup might need to be touched once every 6k miles. For many of us this is once every couple years.

I found them as reliable as FI and perhaps more so in that failures are generally soft.
I also found them to be simpler than FI. Their only weaknesses are
1) inefficient (mpg)
2) noisy
3) suboptimal power over the entire rpm range (low-mid or mid-high).

Now that's sick!!

wowwee wow wow. i like the classic look of my L jet, but i have always liked the look of DCOE's ... and love the performance of individual throttle bodies. so anybody know anybody that has tried this product?

I am in the process of doing this now. I know it will be more work. It comes down to whether the additional effort is worth it to you.

Obviously, we coupesters are willing to make some additional efforts to own a cool car. If we just wanted to get around we would all be driving Toyotas.

I am going for the sound, throttle response, looks and uniqueness of carbs.

I'm in the middle of this transformation, so I'll let you know soon enough. On our "spirited drives" (with the local group), almost everyone seems to be running FI 3.5's, and pull away from me (when I was running the dual-Zeniths). I'm hoping to "keep up" now.
