Hi Guys,
I'm just back from Munich! I loved Oktoberfest - some amazing sights, sounds, tastes and smells. 6 or 7 Mas and a Scotsman can have a really good time there. Also loved the Haxnbauer Restaurant and Augustiner beer as recommended by deQuincey - very many thanks! Had the half pork knuckle, and it was fantastic. Lots of great atmosphere.......
We also went to the Viktuelen market ( thanks Sven ), lovely sights and smells. Had a snack and a beer sitting in the shade of the chestnut trees.
But the massive highlight for me was the visit and guided tour of the BMW Classic Archive - 4 floors of history. A great big thanks to the guys from the BMW Club of New Zealand who allowed us to join them on their tour! Stunning and mind-blowing. I was like a kid in a sweet shop! Took hundreds of photographs. Will post some from time to time ( obviously not all e9 content! )
Somethings I saw and fell in love with:-
2 e9's in BMW Classic workshop.
Calder Art Car CSL
Andy Warhol M1 Art Car
They had everything in there - motorcyles from the very beginning, 327, 328's, 700's, including a couple of "specials," 507's, 'O2's, Coupes, M1's, the James Bond Collection, some amazing one-offs and prototypes - a V16 powered saloon, a load of racing cars, F1, F2, M3GTR, etc etc. So amazingly worth a visit. Thanks also to our tour Guide and all the staff at BMW Classic Centre.
What can i Say - Life's not all about cars!
