I haven’t been there yet but I happen to own someone else’s handiwork...
Toothpick for the emergency flasher, and half of a Q-tip to hold the cigarette plug in place for my O2 sensor power!

Speaking of these oddities; the yellow-orange rear window defrost switch also suffers from this malady...and is even more expensive to replace.
Has anyone done a more reasonable switch-mod they could "share"?

I've disassembled them (carefully) and tweaked the spring a little bit with a success rate of about 70%. It's a good dining room table repair.

I did a modification that Arde suggested, and I think it works great. See the threads at:

All my experience is with the earlier, 6-terminal switches. Assume this could be done on the later, 8-terminal switches as well, but haven't tried it.
