Trying this forum in the hope someone can help.

I bought a K&N air filter for my 1971 3.0 CSI to replace the standard air filter. The filter I received (K&N 33-2005) was the wrong size though... (too small). Does anyone know the correct K&N item number?

thanks in advance.

Stick with the original paper filter. The K&N is in now way better except for making the car louder. If you think you gain performance your beeing fooled by the fact that it´s louder. When it comes to filtering, the K&N is inferior to the original. The original is a pretty good design.

I use K&N's in all of my vehicles. 2 cars, 1 truck, and an antique motorcycle.
There's no real increase in power that you will notice. I have not noticed any increase in noise either.
They are more costly than paper filters, but in my opinion, are well worth the expense.
I have never noticed any increase in particulate contamination to carb/head, or valves.
I have after market air boxes on mine so can't give you info on correct fitment issues or numbers.
