Hi guys,

Has anyone obtained a new one of these? I think I remember seeing them on ebay - are they correct and like original?

Regards,

Rohan

Thanks Orangener,

wonder where I can get hold of one? Anyone have a polaris breaker!?

Mine was always missing the Karmann plate, even though the holes are still there. It must have come off along the way.

I've got the new one to replace it with (Jaymic has them). Interested to know what info goes where. I'm guessing that the paint code is stamped on the bottom line but what about the top - chassis number ? - can anyone throw any light on this ?

Thanks

Not sure if this helps the mystery or not but, my original Polaris (60) Karmann plate is still affixed, but has no evidence of ever being stamped in the 'NR' provision above the paint code.

I wonder if the factory considered it too much work during assembly and cut corners.

Anyone have a plate with the 'NR' stamped at all?

..love these auto-archeological mysteries.

Well I suppose it depends where you obtain the plate from :)

I purchased attached at Techno Classica a few years back ...

so you can get a good copy :D

Hi Dj,

That is a very good copy - any idea who it was selling them?

Sorry I don't :(
I came across this plate at the Techno Classica oldtimer fair in Essen, however I believe these guys can make a perfect copy http://www.skalen.de/start.html
*Wait for the page to load and then click 'PKW' (=car) and then scroll down. *

The Karmann colour plate is not shown but they claim to be able to make perfect reproductions of your source plate - perhaps we should bulk order !?

I have never dealt with them however

Rgds
