Hi all, mainly for uk members but worldwide info is more than welcome.
ive purchased 2x new key blanks for my 72 cs and need to know where I can get them cut using my only present key as a blank. Ive never seen this dimple key system on any other marque apart from bmw. Has anyone got any ideas as to where I could get them cut?

Hi mate,

I've seen an advert on eBay for dimple key cutting in the states. £25 a key including the blanks but I imagine they'll discount this for you, all you need to do is give them the key code and a good quality picture of each side of each key. If you want to split postage costs I may also be interested in getting a set made.

I'll dig the link out for you in a minute.

That is great news!!! Nosmonkey il drop you a pm and we'l get it sorted. And thank you to all who replied And for the endorsments.

Not much help for mr bump, but I found a local shop in Rockville MD that still has a dimple key machine.

Doug, you should check with them (http://www.liblock.com) next time you need a key.

I highly recommend Keys4Classics, they did the perfect job. At one stage, they could even supply the BMW logo blank keys.

I tried a local shop that still had a "dimple" machine once. Ended up wasting one of my BMW blank key and few of their blank ones and they still could not get it right. Hope others have better luck.

There's a key place in Primrose Hill London (it may be Keys Galore) that used to do these. Worth a go

I got BMW logo keys from Keys4Classics when I had mine done (late July 2014). They were a little more expensive than the plain blanks, but not much.

According to the eBay ad they can still source these, not sure how much more it will cost but my BMW ones are looking decidedly worse for wear after 42 years.
