Hi,

I was lucky enough to find a NOS 1972 Klippan safety belt for my 1972 csi (euro !!) but don't know where to mount it.
I thought it is a 2 point safety belt, but it appears to be a 3 point one.

Does it go to the bottom of the B post, and on the rear wood trim?

A pic would be very helpful.

thx

I don't have a picture but your car should already have the mounting points. B pillar is standard and then the 3rd mount is behind the rear arm rest. So the seats have to come out and then remove the arm rests and you should see mounting points real close to the inside rear wheel well.
I just bought some new belts and it came with a belt holder that is suppose to be drilled into the wood. I didn't bother installing it only to blemish the wood finish.
Hope this helps.

Final correction: Klippan is Swedish, like me, and now part of Autoliv which make belts and airbags.

On the drawing it shows the intermediate point at the top of the "B" post, where on later cars the belt was held in place via a small triangular, plastic piece. I have this setup on my `74 car but ended up taking it away and let the belt come straight from the rear mounting point, across my shoulder. Why: because it was very uncomfortable on the shoulder with the original setup (but everyone is different....)

One day I must travel to Austria, invite myself to Orangeners secret warehouse and library and simply faint...

Is there anything BMW made, sold or printed in the 70s that Orange hasn´t found in some obscure breakers yard?

Hello Bela,

I have a set of these as well. They do score high points on style not so much on comfort. Naturally, every coupester knows which is more important

Thanks for the help everyone ! Especially orangener was a great help !

Checking out the 2 illustration, I think I will mount the belt like on the first pic.Looks like it has the correct lenght for this way of installing, instead of putting it behind the rear armrest.

Andy, yes you're right I don't care about the comfort either. But I think it looks great. It couldn't be more period correct.
