L jet to motronic conversion

have anyone convert to L jet to motronic. I first made the change 5 years ago from D jet to L jet. I don't like the conversion hard to troubleshoot and its not as reliable as my 85 e24. Now, can I go from L jet to motronic with alot of major modification. thanks for any help.
 
You will need to pull the head and swap cams and upper timing covers. It's plenty of work and you will need to have your head done. Keep in mind you can't go motronic on a 3.0 tranny unless it has Getrag 265 late bell housing or you move up to a 179 ecu and TDC unit on the dampener.
 
The L-jet conversion was from 733i long block that I added the 320i intake runners, my tranny is two piece and I got a rear bellhousing with the two reference sensors.
 
That depends on if you want to keep the L-Jet manifold. The Motronic harness does not mate with the L-Jet manifold without some tweaking.

If you want to go "whole hog" Motronic 1.3 (179 ECU) then you will need to replace the harmonic balancer and find a 2002tii brake booster to clear the new Motronic intake manifold.
