had to

opposite to the flap, these allow an easy dissasembly simple pressure towards inside and dislodge the glass to take them out

must remove the base...

feet removed to be rechromed...

How did that compared to the rechroming of the feet?

I tried to dismantle mine, to follow your route, but along the way I broke the internal m4 (or m5) screw and then simply bought new ones.

i was luckier than you, then, no broke
original is original, well good you know it
price is two times once refreshed, but hey, do you want a wally&nelly souvenir when you can have real stuff…

if i was staying with traps, this would be the right route. i migrated to flags (from BMW). i am not sure that the flags you buy now are BMW or repops.

As far as I know, replica traps or flag mirrors do not have ventilation holes. The middle mirror in the photo is a replica.

are repro´s feet shorter ?

Repo has a slightly longer base.
The mounting base in the repo has an embossment on the surface above. You can see it well in the photo.

Interesting information. I never would have guessed that it would be a business case to reproduce the flags. I assumed the Wally parts to be originals.
I'll compared to the old ones I have.
There is a chance I'll rechrome them as well now....

I can fully understand going, or keeping original.
