strange car this e9, the wiper-blade motor is laying open air, (well, yes, inside the water box, but if it rains, it gets wet)

the problem in my case is that in top speed of this motor, you can feel the supreme effort of moving the blades as if the world has came to an end

so a second hand younger 1974´s motor is here to help, but first, some cleaning and new grease

gasoline to clean it

contacts sand paper and dielectric fluid spray

castrol LM grease

and plastiline (butyl) to close the hole of the cables going inside the motor

Just wondering if you took the motor apart and discovered the magnets were cracking and/or disintegrating? I had that problem with two motors from a '74 and a '75. I am wondering if it would be possible to epoxy the magnet pieces back together?

no idea, i suppose it depends on the damage, or level of disintegration

the problem i guess, is that if you use epoxi to glue the magnet to the wall, the thickness of the glue can make slight difference in the position of them and they might collide with the rotor

in the old motor, i took out the rotor, to clean some magnetic particles that had come off the magnet and were stumbling down there, but the damage was not big and i can stand with the result.

i don´t know how to help you, no ideas,...

Your documentation of your projects is most appreciated!

ha, ha,

well, thank you

yes on the contrary, i am surprised of the little use that others in this forum, do of their digital cameras, i know it is a bit of work, and it can get "sticky" when you are with your fingers full of grease !, but i find it easy to do, and interesting to document the work for the future

regards

Years ago I bought a 61611355155 Covering Cap to cover the windshield motor. Looks like it is NLA now.

Wiper Motor Cover

You might get a second hand one from an E3 although I suppose these are getting a bit rare nowadays.

Thanks again @deQuincey although I always have to start additional learning before any of these are attempted :)

Now searching and learning about both dielectric fluid spray and plastiline (butyl) after initially thinking it was a typo for plasticine !
