Guys a couple of weeks ago Peter Coomaraswamy started a thread about hood closure. One of the things that came up was that the e9 and e3 latch hooks are different. I was wondering does anyone know a measurement for either set of hooks? Photos show my hooks, and the hood sits high, even with latches set down as low as possible, will try without them in and see how it sits, but can anyone help re lengths?

I took some shots below with measurements. I'm fairly sure these are standard 1974 e9 hardware, anyhow, there are two adjustments that you need to look at, first is the receiving latch height, which you said is bottomed out (may not be correct) the next is the cable adjustment. The latch height grabs the hood and the cable adjustment pulls it straight down. I had better results by putting the latches midway and tightening up the cable (both sides, little by little). I still need more adjustment, but I think it looks good for now, MUCH better than when I received the car.
