Regarding this year's Legends of the Autobahn West in PG, who's going and how does everyone register - 'judged' or 'display'? Do you have to have a really nice car to be parked with all you guys? I was thinking about driving down this year and thought it would be cool to be able to park with the rest of the E9s rather than the 'civilian' parking area, and of course would like to meet you all in person. However, my car is a work in progress, not sure how appropriate it would be to have my jalopy parked next to you guys, it will be like the 'Bavarian Hillbillies' rolling into town. It will either make you look that much better, or bring down the property value so to speak.

I think I will be around this year. I attended twice and the E9s involved were all in great condition. I was not judged and probably shouldn't, but I am not ashamed of my car. I would say bring the car regardless, thick skin is a good thing to have in life. Just do not bring rust.

The PG golf course is a really nice venue for the show. Unlike previous years, last years display parking was very close to the judged field at least for E3, E9 and ‘02s with a nice selection of each.

If you have any interest in trying your hand at being judged, it’s worth entering, but the E9 class is full concours judging which includes exterior, interior, trunk, under the hood and the undercarriage. Oftentimes, people choose this option for the better parking, though at this venue I’m not sure it’s necessary to do that versus the display parking.

Thanks for the replies! I will be there either way, but may end up just parking in the regular lots. My car has a new drivetrain and suspension, but I had the body down to bare metal and now have a two-part epoxy primer over that. It looks like a paint job, but since I have not started body work yet, all the little dents and previous scars are visible through the primer. So it is more akin to a rat rod than anything else. Then there is the interior....

I will come find you guys. I will just be happy to be there and it is always fun driving my E9 around Monterey, especially during car week, always seem to get thumbs up regardless of condition. I have a project/work site down there (at Fort Ord) so probably shouldn't skip work all day either!
