I am not even sure where I got these parts, someone gave me a box of e9 parts and they seem to be from multiple years and probably even some other makes but I came across this light and was wondering if it belongs to a BMW or possibly a Datsun, or maybe a Stanley Steamer?

Thanks

Back in the 70s bmw offered a BMW/Honda motorcycle combo. Sort of like the Ford/Harley thing. The light you have is from the interior of the special order coupe and lit up when you reached redline of 10,000 rpm on the Factory installed Wankel engine , there was a matching one on the tail light of the Honda 750/4. This is the only known instance of Japan using a German light and basically, the only documented collaboration of same.:!:

Seriously tho, the pic is upside down and I can't make out the part number?

I was thinking something like that, would it be a dealer option or ? I guess the real question I have is "does it belong on my e9" ? :-)

Thanks

restart, perhaps it is an early Honda airbag light. Mounted on the steering wheel and doubles as a horn button. When the light goes out the airbag goes pop.

But I like your version better.

Peter, hard to tell how big it is. Could it be an oversize, DOT-option side reflector for our coupes. Some have bulbs that work.

No, this is about the size of a standard after-market front fog lamp, could be a pre-curser to the 3rd brake light?

Aftermarket rear fog light....quite popular in Europe, never seemed that popular in the US.

Google "vintage rear fog light" and you'll see lots of similar lights.
