Load Shedding Relay

The red/green wire is completely loose and dangling from the connector base of the Load Sharing Relay (the current stop on wringing out the PO connecting the battery backwards).

Any words of wisdom on how best to sort given no extra wire or space in that location? I am reluctant to splice wire and add individual connectors, but that is looking like my only option.

Thoughts and recommendations welcome.

Btw, when working on the fuse panel, the seat adjustment lever digs into my kidney......

unclear whether there's something to plug it into. Did it (assumed male) spade connector fry off the relay and that's why the wire is hanging?

Splice at will but do a proper job of it. Various diameters and colors of heat-shrink tubing to put over the splice are usually available at your friendly local electronics or radio store.

If I understand the opposite

of Honolulu's assumption- that the wire is just hanging from the relay? Resistance aside- then I would use what's remaining cut it in half to use one end back at the fuse/ panel which should be the adjacent farthest right fuse, and splice the middle. Soldered and shrink wrapped. Then at least for the future the ends would have the correct color code.

Since the primary color is red, a second way would be to mark a red wire of the proper guage with the use of paint. ( model, hobby, striping paint, maybe vinyl striping too.) I 've done it before on Porsches that have exposed wires that were very visible as in engine compartments on restoration or detailing projects where the original tracer was laquer or faded badly.( pink vs. originally red)

Last- splice a fused wire assembly. Especially if you're unsure still about what's up with what happened with the PO's attempts at maintenance.

BMW still sells some wires in bulk, but not that combo.Y N Z or some firm like that might have it and perhaps sell a bit. Maybe post a wanted ad - you might get lucky if someone has a used/ cut up wiring left. Worth a shot if you want originality.
