This was in a 1977 630i:

Just gotta reupholster that headrest. The rest is basically perfect. The matching seat is still in the car, but definitely needs upholstery... It's there for anybody who lives near Sacramento, CA and feels like venturing to the PnP on Sunrise Blvd.

Looks like a sport seat out of an E30 to me. Maybe I'm wrong, but not a Recaro. My son just sold a tan pair yesterday on craigslist.

My understanding was always that the E30 sport seat was designed under contract with Recaro. I typically see these seats sell for $250-$300 apiece.

the e30 sport seat was NOT built by Recaro. it was similar in shape to the 320is sport seat / 635csi sport seat, which was a recaro. the e30 sport seat was more comfortable than the recaro, and was more adjustable. you could easily adjust the angle of the seat bottom (by pulling the front side lever), adjust the seat back (by the back lever). you could roll the thigh bolster forward by rolling the knob.

there are 2 versions - the std. e30 had vertical seams, the M3 and convertible had horizontal seams.
