How did you diagnose MPS problem? Doesn't hold vacuum? Bosch will rebuild yours for a pretty penny. Since you are in SF, I bet advice is to consult Fuel Injection Corp.
The car has been dying on idle after the engine is warmed up pretty well. So I unplugged the cable connector from the unit and expected the engine to react and it didn't.
I have a rebuilt one or you can have Fuel Injection Corp (Tracy, CA) rebuild yours. Made a huge difference in my cars performance. Seems like it was a couple of hundred bucks but I had an ECU rebuilt too so I can't be sure. Give them a call
I was surprised I could do it, but looks like was able to post Bosch Manual for CSI. It points to pressure sensor and trigger contacts as things that could cause a start then stall problem. A problem with fuel pump can prob be ruled out if you are running ok with throttle applied.
