More surprises keep coming up during the restoration of the wiring harness. It turns out that at some point a light switch from an E21 or an E24 was installed. Interestingly, it has the exact same pins and even the same labeling, with a couple of direct connections using larger spade terminals (a complete mess…).
What I don’t fully understand is the functional difference between them, since they carry different part numbers. For example, when I search on ECS for the original number 61311350151, it redirects me to the one I apparently have installed, 61311355791. I came across an old post mentioning differences in the pin layout, but I never really understood what that means functionally.
Right now, I’m trying to source the wiptail, or if anyone knows of a good place to find the plastic socket with 4.8 mm L-shaped terminals, that would be fantastic. Alternatively, if someone happens to have a wiptail like the one in the picture, I’d be very interested in buying it.
Cheers!
