Does anyone know an alternative relay that's obtainable, works on an E9 and is noticeably louder than the stock unit?

The tick-tock sound on mine is very quiet and I've not had much luck sourcing an alternative.

Thanks
Ben

The Tridon EL13 has been mentioned before. It is not stock, but serves virtually the same function.

As I do not have a relay in front of me for reference, I am reluctant to offer instructions blindly. Nevertheless, I located instructions at another site, and they seem correct.

I used a Tridon EL13, cost about $8. The stock flasher uses 4 wires, the EL13 uses 3. You can push the terminals out of the relay base and plug them into the EL13 or you can make up 3 short pigtails with .25 inch male and female terminals and just wire the 3 ends from the relay base to the new relay.

Here's what you have:
___ - ground, not used
31
___ ___ ___
C 49 49A

C --------> P indicator
49 -------> X input
49A -----> L load

This standard relay will not give you the "bulb out" indication. You'll have to just just check your bulb visually every so often or at every pre-ride check.

Connecting the C pin of the flasher to pin 85 of the horn relay will solve the problem.
The "tick" will still be silent but the "tock" will be pretty loud. Even pedestrians will know you are about to make a turn.

Ok

Ok Arde, what's the deal? Whats your day job? Have you ever done stand-up?

I get a ton of great info here, but even if all the dq's, por61's, and hb's all went away, I'd still Chk in here just to lol at all your posts. Great stuff.
