Joe Savovic sold his car a few years ago and suffers from seller's remorse.

With my luck the day I sell to buy some crappy econoasian car I will suffer from seller's and buyer's remorse at the same time. Same luck says remorse treatment is not covered by my medical insurance.

hi, this is daicos 35...

thx for the thoughts on my car.. unfortunately it is not for sale, it was/is my first car ( (obviously , I have since restored it from its original rusty condition)...Hopefully my sons will inherit it!!

hello daicos35

dont blame you for wanting to hold on to that car - and we should all be so lucky to have fathers that would pass a car like that down to us.
can you at least share with us the details of that beautiful motor? what is it exactly? what is that carb/stack/air-filter setup? where did you have the work done?
thnks much,
alanmcg

motor is an m34 b35, so final version of the single cam straight six, out of a 92 535I (bigger valves, better flow, but lower compression). completley rebuilt , with long stroke crank from a 73 3.3i, bored out to circa 94 mm, with custom forged alloy pistons from Top end performance, to raise compression to circa 10.2:1, along with a schrick camshaft.. custom headers, with manual advance distributor.. matching, original italian 45 mm triple weber sidedraft carbs, on a kormann, one piece manifold, with a custom made itg air filter (out of the uk)... ported, polished, balanced, etc circa 3700 cc.. manual stering box, 3.63 final drive lsd diff, getrag 265/5, 5 speed gear box. so very simple, old style package, with a hell of a lot of torque and power. Key is carbs were dyno tuned by an weber expert, driveability is very very good..

What distributor did you use ?

What was the brand and part number of the manual advance distributor did you use ?

Would this be the same as a electronic ignition with a mechanical distributor? Like the Mallory distributor part number 4567201 ?

Thanks,
Steve

i will check for you, but it was built by my mechanic, pretty sure it is a bosch unit, tried the mallory, had a bad expereince and ended up throwing it in the trash..
