I purchased the Coupeking staggered ALPINA like wheels and now need tires, so looking for suggestions

These wheels are 16x7 and 16x8

For a 72’ CS

I live near Seattle, but don’t plan on driving in the rain

if you want all season (not sure why since you shouldn't drive your coupe in the rain or snow), i like the continental extreme contact dws 06

for summer tires - i think the best value is the continental extreme contact sport - roughly 105 / tire from tire rack. my favorite tire is the bridgestone re-11 although they are 40 to 45 buck/ tire more.

thanks, I don't plan on driving in the rain and especially not the snow!
I learned to drive on the snow, but here in Seattle a tiny bit is a disaster

I drive on the same and I use Yokohama Sport 205x55 and 225x50, works great.

Thanks for all the input!, Okilligan, good to know the Commodore 64 is still working, If only I still had my TI994A

Michelin pilots sport a/w. They are great tires, excellent traction, smooth and quiet ride.
Mike,

i was looking on tirerack.com ... and i don't find a pilot sport a/w. i do find a pilot sport a/s 3+ with a Y rating. they are ultra high performance, all season tires ... and average 140 bucks each. this is the same category as the continental extreme contact dws 06. the michelin are the highest rating of the UHP-AS tires. but they are the same price (within 5 bucks) of the bridgestone RE-11 ... which is one of the best tires around - its an extreme performance summer tire and is the number 1 tested tire in that category. i have a set of these and they stick like glue.

the new continental extreme contact sport is better than the previous extreme contact DW. in a tirerack test of max performance tires, it out performed the pirelli p zero (PZ4), but didn't surpass the michelin pilot sport 4s. the michelin 4s doesn't come in sizes to fit our coupe.

I wonder if I need extreme tires, my 2000 528 probably corners better anyway
For fit, I am using 16" wheels

I too vote for Michelin. Once I finish playing around with my suspension and get my car aligned, that is what I will be running.

Right you are, Pilot Sport A/S 3+. They are great tires and I have been very happy with them. I plan on mounting a set on the 3.3li and have them on my 1988 535i.
