No, it's not for me- I have a friend who is looking to get into the 2002/e9 experience. I suggested that he start with a 2002 since they are much less expensive to get into. I thought I would ask here if anyone had a lead on one. There are 2 for sale in Austin but neither of them is worth what they're asking from the pictures; "Perfect" condition usually means there is carpet and 2 front seats but down here in Texas it may have a different meaning :-)

Thanks,

Peter

Hey - finding stuff! Can I play? I wish finding coupes was such a cake walk (not really). If it looks like I have too much time on my hands, I'm in a rocking chair waiting for the 2yo to pass out in her new toddler bed.

Possibly selling.....

Mulling the idea again of selling my Malaga 71 2800cs coupe and hopefully upgrade to something a bit more finished or do some rust mitigation (already found a good shop and got a decent quote) & repainting but not sure what I am getting myself into once I go down this road. $$$$
If I decide to sell I will let you know for sure, my car is not rust free but certainly not a rust bucket, I had the 5 spd conversion done and car is very original, and drives great, price would be <$20k, pm me or your friend, if interested. Once again this is a maybe, possibly, only selling if I find something else (aka more expensive.)

BMWCCA has a classifieds section that can be viewed without being a member. Click the "Classic" box to filter. Generally well kept cars but a little pricey because they have been kept up (generalizing). There is a nice original owner Golf 2002 for $10,000 on there right now, 72'. Seems like a steal.

Then 2002faq is of course always good.

And Makemodelsearch.com will cover the whole country for CL ads.

And there ya have it.... GL!

Thanks Guys, we now have a plethora of ideas; I hope my acquaintance is able to gain some pricing knowledge and more importantly some classic BMW knowledge through our forum. I know there are 02 forums, but this is kind of like the "graduate school" for BMW's so I'm grateful for all the input and if we are able to zero in on a particular car then more pesky questions will follow :-)
